Introduction
Saavee is a quirky black-comedy thriller that mixes family conflict, mystery and social messaging. Though it begins like a routine rural drama, it quickly turns into a darkly humorous investigation filled with unexpected deaths, missing bodies, and a surprising final message.
Storyline
Udhaya Deep plays a young man who believes his two uncles killed his father. While dealing with this anger, he also falls in love with his uncle’s daughter.
Things take a strange turn when one of his uncles dies in an accident, and the body mysteriously goes missing from the mourning house. The police begin an investigation, questioning every family member.
Before the mystery is solved, the protagonist’s second uncle also dies.
Saavee then unfolds as a dark comedy that revolves around:
- the missing body,
- the series of deaths,
- and how all these incidents are connected.

Direction & Production
Writer-director Antony Ajith attempts something unique by taking a small incident and presenting it as a black comedy with suspense-thriller elements.
Though the title change from Sav Veedu to Saavee feels disconnected initially, the director’s intention becomes clear by the end — to make the audience laugh while conveying a strong message.
His screenplay balances humour, mystery, and a socially relevant warning about drug abuse — a growing issue affecting today’s youth.
