Plot Summary:
Set in an isolated hill village cut off from basic medical and transport facilities, Gevi tells the story of Malayan (Aadhavan), a brave villager who dares to question political leaders and forest officials who visit only during elections. His defiance earns the wrath of a powerful forest officer who seeks revenge at the worst possible moment—just as Malayan’s pregnant wife (Sheela) goes into labor in a remote, roadless village.

With danger closing in on both Malayan and his wife, the villagers rally to save her. Will they succeed in the race against time, nature, and systemic neglect? Gevi is a hard-hitting social drama that exposes the daily struggles of forgotten communities.

Performances:

Direction and Screenplay:
Tamil Dhayalan deserves praise for taking a socially rooted story and telling it with emotional honesty. He doesn’t rely on melodrama but instead lets the situations speak for themselves, which adds to the film’s impact.
