Introduction
Kadhal Reset Repeat, directed by Vijay, attempts to blend romance with a unique psychological premise. Storyline
The story follows Siddharth (Madumkesh), who takes care of Aditi (Jiya Shankar), a young woman suffering from a rare form of amnesia that resets her memories every day. Because of this condition, Siddharth reminds her daily that he is her boyfriend and caretaker while they live together in an isolated cabin in Scotland.
Initially, the premise appears sweet and emotional. But the film soon reveals a disturbing truth — Siddharth was never actually Aditi’s boyfriend. Instead, he has been silently following her since childhood without ever confessing his feelings.
As Aditi struggles to piece together fragments of her life, the film unfolds through a mix of romance, drama, and attempts at humour. Meanwhile, characters around her, including her boyfriend Arri (Arjun Ashokan) and family members, try to navigate the increasingly complicated situation.
Performance Highlights
Jiya Shankar emerges as the film’s strongest performer. She convincingly portrays Aditi’s confusion and vulnerability, bringing emotional sincerity to a character trapped in a frustrating situation.
Newcomer Madumkesh delivers a very restrained performance as Siddharth. While the character is meant to be mysterious and obsessive, the limited dialogue and subdued expressions make the role feel somewhat underwhelming.
Arjun Ashokan, MS Bhaskar, Viji Chandrasekhar, and Jayaprakash appear in supporting roles but struggle to shine due to weak character writing and flat dialogues.
