Introduction

‘Aryan’ is a psycho-thriller that stands out for its fresh and intelligent storytelling approach. Instead of focusing on who the killer is, the film explores why and how the murders happen, keeping the audience hooked from a new perspective.

Storyline

During a popular TV show hosted by journalist Shraddha Srinath, a shocking incident unfolds when Selvaraghavan takes the audience hostage at gunpoint and announces he will murder five people in five days.
After the hostages are rescued, the case is handed over to a special investigation team led by Vishnu Vishal. What’s unique is that instead of chasing the killer, Vishnu Vishal tries to stop the murders before they happen. The screenplay smartly reveals the motive, the suspense, and the emotional depth behind each event.

Performance Highlights

  • Vishnu Vishal impresses with a mature, composed, and powerful performance as a police officer. His expressions of personal life conflicts involving love, marriage, and divorce are portrayed subtly through his body language and a song segment.
  • Selvaraghavan makes a solid impact as the antagonist. He is not portrayed as a typical brutal psycho killer—but his calm, unpredictable nature keeps the audience disturbed and tense throughout.
  • Shraddha Srinath, Maanasa Choudhary, Karunakaran, and Avinash Y deliver notable support to the narrative.

Technical Brilliance

  • Ghibran’s background score elevates tension and emotion, amplifying the thriller experience.
  • Cinematography by Harish Kannan visually captures fear, suspense, and intensity through effective camera angles and colour tones.
  • Editing by Shaan Lokesh keeps the screenplay tight and engaging with sharp cuts.
  • Action choreography by Stunt Silva & PC Stunt Prabhu adds realism and intensity without unnecessary violence.

Direction & Production

Writer-director Praveen K successfully breaks away from the usual pattern of psycho-thrillers.
Without relying on gore or shock value, he presents a logically grounded and family-watchable thriller. The screenplay is intelligently structured to make the audience think, stay curious, and emotionally connect with the motive behind the crimes.

✅ Fresh take on a psycho-thriller
✅ Strong performances – especially Vishnu Vishal & Selvaraghavan

Final Thoughts

‘Aryan’ breaks the template of regular psycho-thrillers and delivers a gripping, intelligent, and emotionally relevant film. With strong performances, technical finesse, and a unique storytelling style, it keeps the audience hooked from start to finish.
